Galleria Esperienza was New York City’s first ‘Experience Gallery’. Unwitting audience members stumbled into the curtained Lower East Side store front and were greeted by a central photography exhibit showcasing work by Saam Aghevli. After speaking with the Gallery Attendant, they were directed to a menu which offered five distinct performative experiences in the surrounding spaces, to be ordered ‘a la carte’ or ‘prix fixe’.

These experiences centered around the idea of play, each engaging with a different aspect of the idea, and encouraging audience members to view each moment with a renewed sensitivity, openness, and care.
